I want to take a calculus course that is different than the recommendation I received. What should I do?

Answer

Each college and/or program recommends an appropriate level of calculus based on a student's prior calculus experience (including SAT scores, AP scores, and transfer credit) and the score earned on the ALEKS placement test. If you feel you should be taking a calculus course that is different than the recommendation, reach out to the Associate Dean's office of your college to discuss your options. Although the preliminary registration period ends at the end of July, you will have additional opportunities to make changes to your schedule when you come to campus for orientation.
